Today is International Women’s Day and to celebrate, we bring into the spotlight one of our Senior Associates, Stephanie Forward. Stephanie practices in Litigation and Dispute Resolution and has been working at Rouse Lawyers for two years.
Why law?
I first became interested in law at the age of 11 years old as my Mum was studying it at the time.
That was the same year the film Erin Brockovich was released and that certainly inspired me to follow a path into law!
What’s the best part about being a lawyer at Rouse Lawyers?
I enjoy the diverse nature of the legal work I do; every single day is different, and I am involved in a variety of interesting matters. I also love the working culture we have at Rouse – we work hard but also take the time to celebrate our successes which I’m excited to be a part of.
What’s the biggest challenge facing Litigators?
Litigation isn’t something anyone wants to find themselves involved in. Whether you’re the plaintiff and have been wronged or the defendant, defending an action where someone is alleging you have wronged them. This isn’t a situation anyone wants to find themselves in. That’s where I can step in to ease the stress and fight to achieve a positive result.
What’s your greatest career achievement?
I am most proud of achieving Senior Associate level after only 4 years post admission experience and winning the Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Queensland Inc – Young Gun of the Year award in 2020.
What’s an interesting fact about yourself?
Each year I direct and produce a comedy show for lawyers performed by lawyers with the Queensland Young Lawyers. I am the immediate past president of the QYL.
What’s your drink of choice – Day/Night
Day – Coffee!
Night – A glass of the finest wine produced in the Montepulciano region of Tuscany.
